'History, Culture, Co- operation and Fun!'-A week long non formal learning experience with young people and youth workers from Finland and Ireland. We have a strong group of 20 enthusiastic young people who are eager to explore and engage in new opportunities and learning experiences with similar young people. We seek to enhance the international aspect of youth work and share experiences through the method of a youth exchange. This will allow for discovering cultures, youth life styles and exploring concepts such as youth participation, culture and the meaning of it, a look into both Ireland and Finland’s history, and EU citizenship.Through group work, conversation, fun, discussion, outdoor activities, cultural and historic visits we will journey together through a wonderful week of international learning! Young people will gain enhanced communication and leadership skills through their planning and organising of this exciting learning experience and not only that! They will also develop their skills in self confidence, personal development, facilitation, planning and organising, problem solving and team building. It is envisaged that young people will spread the word after their activity and have planned to communicated with young people/ volunteers/ parents and their community about just how worthwhile international youth work is. They plan to workshop their inter cultural learning and share with others the insights and knowledge they gained around historic and cultural similiarities and comparisons with Finland and Ireland.
