International mobility is an important part of the school’s programme, offering students the opportunity to gain new educational experiences, to tackle new areas of study, to get to know a country, to improve their knowledge of a language, to enhance their personal architecture project and to improve their employment prospects. The school has set itself the challenge of offering all students this opportunity in the coming years. ENSA Paris-Belleville holds a European Erasmus Charter granted by the European Commission. This has just been renewed for the 2014-20 period. In the 2014-15 academic year, 44 students from the school (31 women and 13 men) went abroad as part of the Erasmus + scheme. The school prefers them to spend two semesters abroad. All these students received the Erasmus grant. All the students returned with the necessary credits and felt enriched by this experience abroad, both on an educational level, having studied new subjects, acquired new working methods and mastered a new language, and on a personal level, having met new people, become more independent and taken on new responsibilities. This experience abroad enables students to imagine a future where they are part of the international world of architecture that is henceforth a reality. The school would like to welcome more foreign students (61 students came in the 2015/16 academic year) and in particular to open up its partnership agreements to new members of the Community. The management of the school is very involved in the development of its European objectives. Moreover, news bilateral agreements are going to be signed soon with the United Kingdom and the Ireland. The foreign students who come to the school follow lessons corresponding to the university level in which they are enrolled in their home country, since ENSA Paris-Belleville considers that this condition is essential to the success of the Erasmus+ programme. Nevertheless, the school also gives them priority places in a class on the History of Parisian Architecture so that they can, should they so wish, acquire a general appreciation of this subject by the end of their stay, The school works hard to publicise the mobility programme by organising an event each year involving the returning students and the prospective participants. This event brings together the whole school.
