Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015,
End date: Sep 30, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
The High School "Les Vergers" is a private farming high school belonging to the National Private Agricultural Education Board. International cooperation is a priority for the institution. It is also part of the mission of agricultural education.
Within the establishment, the international opening is organized in two ways for students:
either mobility is collective, is the case for Spain, Morocco, Greece, Romania, Czech Republic ...
either mobility is individual (placement of 15 days to 3 months).
All HNDA students are obliged to go abroad with language and cultural concerns.
This project enabled 4 HNDA students and 2 teachers to go on training in Scotland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Ireland. Those are students who aspire to be European citizens but their financial means do not allow them. Faithful to the school project we want to give our young people the opportunity to leave the country physically. This course provides substantial added value on a professional level thanks to the discovery of new practices but also on a personal level by the discovery of new cultures and new ways of living. On the other hand it reinforces the notions of autonomy and adaptability.
For students this course allowed to discover the structure and its environment, to develop techniques and relational and technical know-how, develop independence and develop their observation skills and understanding of concrete situations.
For teachers this course has helped better understand the practical, educational systems, milk production, the country's politics, constraints and strengths of the operation on the impact of climate and soil typology on driving cultures but also to soak up the culture and lifestyle and then to share it with students to better prepare them for mobility, to better understand the demands and requirements of farmers to develop and better prepare learners before they leave in the knowledge, know-how, to improve the knowledge of English, to strengthen relations between the school "Les Vergers" and partners and become familiar with the country's regulations and safety. Teachers have carried out various activities: they discovered the structure, they observed, followed the daily work. Moreover they met our partners and establish good relations with our future partner: the Agricultural University of Cork.
Membership in the Erasmus + program aims to develop international cooperation and intensify its actions within the institution. This membership has allowed our students and our teachers to strengthen their areas of expertise. She also enriched their training and will improve their employability. And it makes sense to bring our learners creativity and personal development that will enable Europe to improve its competitiveness and job creation.
We would later expand the number of participants. Pedagogically the placement abroad gives rise to a training course in control of an M23 module (English) part of the review of the HNDA. With the certificate Europass Mobility, the experience gained is formally validated. This certificate will be officially presented to the participants at the ceremony in the presence of their family diplomas, teaching teams, members of the board and the local press.
