Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Erasmus programme, through its objectives, aimed at developing an internationalization strategy by increasing the number of students, teaching staff and administrative staff involved in the exchange programme. The previous experience of Erasmus + participants has been promoted at the university level among students and teaching staff, which led to the increase of the applications, mainly belonging to students wishing to benefit from an international professional experience. For the academic year 2015-2016 the financial agreement stipulated a total of 43 mobilities, of which 51 were completed (SMS mobilities plus 1 SMP mobility). Within the SMS mobilities there were financed mobilities, partially financed and zero grant ones. In the same period of time 7 teaching staff mobilities were completed. The beneficiaries of the Erasmus mobilities have highly appreciated the opportunity of this programme financed by the European Commission, to which was added financial support from the university (in some cases). We noticed an incresed interest of students in attendind the Erasmus programme; thus the number of additional mobilities increased, all these being recorded and updated in the Mobility Tool. The evaluations made by the mobilities participants are favourable both from the outbound and inbound students. The academic exchange is based on peer-to-peer relationships and shared interests. Therefore, teaching staff members who have developed joint research projects with their counterparts were encouraged to apply for Erasmus mobilities, an approach that has led also to establish new institutional partnerships. • Actual and prospective University’s international partners have been approached with the intent to either extend/ increase or establish new institutional agreements within the ERASMUS plus framework. • Teaching staff / researchers from the UMF were encouraged to promote their respective international collaboration network through the ERASMUS programme. • Visibility of the Erasmus Office for a more efficient information and communication with the mobilities participants The following topics have been taken into consideration: • disseminating information regarding the opportunities of studying abroad, as well as the advantages for both student and the University; • conducting meetings and disseminating information at faculty-level and analyzing best practices (former Erasmus students); • facilitating the presence of incoming teaching staff, students and administrative staff from other universities, who can offer direct information about the strategies and actions carried out within their universities; • organizing the Erasmus Day for incoming students (in collaboration with the other 4 state universities) • organizing periodic information sessions; • actively involving Student Societies in informing students; • continuing the University’s policy of co-financing students for Erasmus scholarships. The number of applicants for the available places has significantly increased, on the bases of a careful, transparent and productive process of selection. The visibility has been improved by attending education fairs (EAIE Fair and conferences), by publishing and updating the information on the website of the institution with regard to the Erasmus programme, by organizing information sessions to promote the programme; the transparency in all the procedures used to select the participants, the promotion of the mobility by overcoming obstacles to the effective exercise of the right to free movement, students' access to study and training opportunities. It is with great satisfaction to report that the impact of the results was good and very good. The objective analysis of all these results concludes that the experience of all participants (students, teaching staff) to Erasmus + programme is advantageous for their professional and personal development.
