Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The College IES Francesc de Borja Moll is a focused in vocational training education at any stage. It is located Mallorca (the Balearic Islands). Due to the large number of tourists that Mallorca receives each year, our students are interested in joining to the labour market with an acceptable level of foreign language in order to increase their employment opportunities after their studies. We have been doing mobilities of students with different projects inside the framework of the Erasmus program; as a result our students have increased their employment rate. Thus, the targets of our project are: improving the language skills our students, increasing their employment rate in different environment to which they are accustomed and discovering different cultures and market opportunities. The project consists of a set of mobilities for vocational training students of higher level. These mobilities are intended for the on-the-job training stage of our students in a European country and, also, some mobilities are devoted to our staff (teachers) in order to improve their knowledge and their English language skills. Participating students are from Dietetics, Personal Image Consultancy and Development of Web Applications. In total they were five students who have completed the on-the-job training module in workplaces (FCT) in countries like United Kingdom, Sweden and Malta with positive results, because they have made a good use of their stay as the person in charge in the hosted companies reflected in the Europass mobility documents. Related to the impact of the project, two participants have remained at the host country and another one is likely to return to work soon to the host country. In general, people in our College are now more receptive and more interested in this type of mobilities.
