Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Jun 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Internationalisation is one of four strategic priority areas in the 2014-2017 strategy for NHH. NHH will have an international academic and teaching environment with well-integrated international faculty and international students and the students will be encouraged to acquire international experience through exchanges, the CEMS programme, double degrees and practical experience in international companies. Participation in the Erasmus+ programme is a crucial tool to obtaining these goals, both with regards to enable the sending a substantial number of students on exchange and traineeships abroad, increasing the numbers of outgoing faculty and staff on teaching and training exchange, as well as achieving internationalization at home by receiving students, faculty and staff. The SMS mobility at NHH is exceptionally high on a national level and through this project period, it continues to increase. The SMP mobility is becoming a target area for NHH. There has been an increase of students admitted into the CEMS MiM programme since 2013, in which an internship abroad is a mandatory requirement in this programme. Measures have been taken to promote the Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship opportunity and it is expected that a higher number of students will seek to find an internship within a programme country. We did however not see the fruits of this enhanced focus and promotion during this project period. The STA and STT mobility did not reach its target during this project period. As a response to this, initiatives at institutional level at NHH have been taken to promote Staff Mobility for training and teaching as a tool to enhance and improve organisational competence, and to contribute to internationalization at home. The Erasmus Institutional Coordinator will collaborate with the HR Department on promoting and allocating the STT funding available, to align the needs for new knowledge and international impulses across the school’s administration. To better facilitate an increased use of the STA funding available, better information delivered in a timely manner on the benefits of receiving funding as well as implementing clear and transparent guidelines on how to apply to obtain funding has been attempted, but still without the desired impact.
