Traditionally, Charles University in Prague belongs amongst higher educational institutions with high mobility numbers within the frame of the Erasmus programme, in the inbound as well as outbound mobility. In the year 2014/15 CU in Prague had 1336 student participants in the outbound mobility (1169 students participated in mobility for the studies programme and 167 in mobility for the traineeships programme). Based on the data of the online Erasmus registration tool of CU in Prague, the institution hosted in the same period 150 more students from abroad than in the previous year. The tendency of the growing numbers of inbound student mobility participants in comparision to outbound mobility numbers has continued, too; Charles University had 200 more incoming than outgoing students in Erasmus+ in 2014/15 (the online registration tool of CU in Prague has 1555 entries of inbound students nominated in the frame of Erasmus+ programme). CU has also observed growing numbers of both outbound and inbound mobility participants by the employees of CU, both academic and non-academic ones. In the case of outbound participants of staff mobility for teaching and staff mobility for training CU had 131 academicians and 22 non-academics joining Erasmus+ mobilities in 2014/15.
Through these high mobility numbers, the participation in the Erasmus+ programme significantly assists to Charles University in Prague in fulfilling the goals of the longterm plan of Charles University, which, among others, stresses the importance of the internacionalisation of the university.
