Our management policy about the aids for the mobility organization focuses on getting a better student participation of all ages, including students with special needs and disadvantage groups. In this way we promote the learning of foreign languages and the diversity, using the ICT, respecting European values like tolerance towards different people and cultures and promoting the equality between men and women.
The aids we obtain are mainly intended to provide to our students a good mobility management. A selection of students who meet the requirement based on equality and transparency is made by our Erasmus + tutor mentors together with the coordinator of the project, providing personal advice and orientation to each student. In the case of students with the same characteristics students with less resources and people with disabilities in order to mitigate social inequalities will have preference.
Apart of the consolidation of the knowledge sharing among all the firms that cooperate with our school with the purpose that our students could value and compare the different kinds of social life, promoting the increase of business attitude and good internship.
On the other hand, we consider that student mobility strengthen the learning process in all ways and gives the students the possibility of living experiences outside the classroom which reinforce the cooperative learning.
Our school has been working within the Erasmus programme since 2010.We are vocational training centre, with four cycles of higher education and four cycles of middle-grade and we have a number of 680 students per course. We have always covered the amount of chosen scholarships, an average of six scholarships per year, number that has been reduced in its concession in a half in the past two years for budgetary reasons.Performing 3 SMT and 1 staff training.
The profile of our students is overall responsible people with themselves and the world that surrounds them, with an appropriate language level, well prepared in their studies that allows them to do a competent job and they are students with few economic resources who want to open borders and find a job that dignifies his person.
The coordinator of the programme has personally contacted the companies performing a previous visit or during the mobility of students, which allows us to have a relationship of subsequent friendship. We have created a database that allows us to continue the work with our partners.
Activities carried out by our students:
In the cycle of Health and Nutrition, our student has been working, in a public Hospital in Malta, on the various eating disorders interpreting diet prescriptions checking and supervising the patient nutritional health, learning about metabolic diseases and hygienic measures, analyzing food samples, drawing up diets plans
In the cycle of Business Management our student was working in a Hotel in Estonia. They asked her, a working knowledge in I.T. packages such as Word, and excel ,experience of data input and database, management Marketing / communications / event management ,business administration knowledge and some relevant experience, organised, structured, systematic and tidy way of working. She did her job with an attitude of excellence.
In the international trade cycle our student was working in Liverpool in a business company performing activities of buying and selling in the import-export Department. Obtaining the recognition of being named best employee of the week.
Activities carried out by the staff.
A professor from the Department of Health, carried out a grant for training in a Hospital in Malta, noting and sharing their experiences with the medical personnel .Encouraging the rest of the Staff of our School to carry out so enriching expertise.
The results have been excellent, being one of the students hired by the Hospital of Malta, and the student of international trade has been granted to continue his university studies in Denmark, thanks to their good level of language and skills.
We have developed an unique process of European programmes within Quality documentation, which explains very clearly the operation of the Erasmus mobility, in order to achieve wider dissemination and be completely transparent in their granting and processing.
Finally, we believe that the cooperation with foreign partners is what make us to work within an European perspective, intertwined with union ties and creating links between donors, i.e. basically between teachers and partners and of course, students. All this is achieved through shared jobs, resumes, training courses, works of research, double degrees, etc., which makes this type of educational cooperation allows to know other educational systems, other cultures and the interrelation of Professor - companies no doubt will only bring benefits and advantages for everybody.
