FINISHED
In Salesianos Burgos Padre Aramburu we have been developing Erasmus activities for several years, consisting of sending Advanced Vocational Training students to different European countries for the performance of their work placements for 3 months in foreign companies.
It is among the objectives of the Centre that students gain experience abroad, learning to cope with the labor world of other countries, using a different language and living in a different place from the usual one, where they feel so comfortable. This contributes to raise their employment opportunities in our country and in many cases it is useful for them to keep on working in the country where they have performed their work placement.
During the year 2014/2015 we have managed three student mobilities framed in the kind of KA103 projects. The three students who have enjoyed the fellowship and made their work placement abroad have completed their studies in Advanced Vocational Training; one got his diploma in Mechanical Manufacture and Design and the other two in Telecommunications and Computer Systems. Their academic profile was similar at the beginning of the mobility, all of them had successfully passed the evaluation of every module in their respective Vocational Studies, and all shared the quality of being open to new experiences with a sufficient level of independence and life skills to live abroad.
The three beneficiary students carried out their internship in companies belonging to the sphere of their studies in the Polish city of Oswiecim, where they stayed between March 30, 2015 and June 30 of that year. This period consists of a minimum stay of 380 hours in companies performing the work stipulated in a prior agreement.
The outcome in the evaluation of the experience, made both by the host companies and the beneficiary pupils has been excellent, with very good reports from the firms, one of which has even offered the grantee the possibility of continuing . Students who have returned to our country have experienced significant progress in their personal growth and management of languages, which has enabled them to achieve a work contract on their return.
