The Consortium of Arts of Castilla and León (Arte-CyL) consists of the Higher Education School of Arts And Design from Burgos, Segovia and Soria, and the higher Education School Of Conservation And Restoration of Ávila, León, Palencia, Salamnca y Valladolid. Besides, The Higher Education Institution of Glass, the School of Dramatic Art of Castilla and León and the Consejería de Educación are also involved in this project.
The coordination of the Consortium is controlled by the FUESCyL, a non-profit organization which has, amongst others, the purpose of fostering and developing art education, music and dramatic arts studies, as well as the organization, development and management of internationalization of University schemes in Castilla and León.
The main goal of the Consortium is to forward the European dimension of Educational Institutions that include in their curriculum higher education in arts in CyL; therefore promoting high-quality education and professional qualifications in students and participants alike.
Further goals are, firstly, to improve the linguistic competence of the participants; secondly, to strengthen their employability by means of the improvement in their professional skill set, moreover, to endorse their entrepreneurship through in-site training and professional experience and finally, to favor and secure exchanges between other Educational Institutions, companies and European Institutions.
The methodology involved in this project is based on the reciprocity of learning through the exchange of experiences from teachers and students fostering intercultural communication and, as a result, knowledge and new approaches to learning and working.
By means of this mobility program, the links between different schemes of education have been strengthened. Besides, it is noticeable an upgrade in the quality of the learning process adding new elements to it.
The academic mobility and the exchange of experiences between students, teachers and personnel have represented, on the one hand, a strategic point to the improvement and extension of intercultural competences, which have been involved in the change of vital and professional course in the lives of everyone involved.
The management of the Consortium has been carried out by FUESCyL with the support of a Technical Teaching Assistant from “Servicio de enseñanzas de regimen especial de la Consejería de educación”, by the “Consejería de educación” and by participating Schools through Erasmus and International relations coordinators.
The proposal from the Consortium has carried out all types of mobility offered by the program Erasmus +:
6 academic mobility programs for students (SMS), 21 internship mobilities (SMP), 12 mobilities to teachers and personnel (5 STT and 7 STA). There have been 35 participants linked to schools that are part of the Consortium and 4 guests from business or institutions for teaching activity.
The most immediate impact has been the development and dissemination of Europass documents and improving the language skills of the participants. Through inbound participants STA they have strengthened relationships between educational center, companies and institutions in the arts sector. At the local and regional level, the program has had an impact in the media, which has led to increased visibility of the educational centers.
