Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The participation of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra (CSMN) in the Erasmus+ Programme is part of its own strategy for modernization and internationalization, encouraging an institutional mobility culture which involves the whole academic community. This strategy acknowledges the key contribution of mobility of staff and students and of participation in European and international cooperation projects to the quality of its higher education programmes and student and staff experience. In this sense, our most important objectives are the enrichment of the internal culture of our institution, the enhancement of the external image of our institution, the improvement of the benefits to students and teachers and to gain new insights and perspectives for the development of our curriculum. Our partners are institutions with different profiles regarding educational structure and artistic character, kind of musical activities, levels, styles. Our aim is to have a mixed portfolio of partners with a variety of sizes, profiles, geographical areas, cultures and educational approaches in order to profit each other from the our various types of expertise and backgrounds. The main activity we are engaged in is students exchange for studies and staff mobility for teaching and training, creating a synergy between these two types of mobility. Within the 2014-2016 Project we have made 5 SMS of Interpretation, Pedagogy and Musicology students, 3 STA and 1 STT staff mobility and organized 8 courses with staff of partner institutions. Our following steps include: to set student exchanges for placements, to expand staff mobility promoting cooperation between our staff and foreign teachers and to participate in music joint programmes. We expect to provide more opportunities for our students and the students of our Erasmus partner institutions to gain additional skills and to get acquainted with different cultures, musical traditions, languages and teaching approaches, with positive effects on their development as musicians, providing a broader perspective of the world and its multitude of cultures and diversity.
