PROJECT
FINISHED
The aim of the Project is the fulfillment of strategic objectives of J. Selye University in the area of internationalization of the educational process. The result should be satisfied project participants. The implementation of international mobility and making new partnerships within the European Union were an effective means for achieving the university’s strategy in this area. The basic objective of the Project was to develop and strengthen the skills and competencies of the students and staff members of J. Selye University, increase the share of participants in cross-border mobilities, extend the possibilities of Erasmus+ with student traineeships and develop contractual and non-contractual relationships with European and non-European higher education institutions. Project partners were higher education institutions of similar orientation with an allocated ECHE. This Project allowed us to send our students on work experience abroad, where they were able to apply their acquired theoretical knowledge in practice at foreign companies. The participants of the Project were the students and employees of J. Selye University. Despite of the planned number of participants (78), there were realized a total of 86 mobilities. The difference between the planned number of activities and the achieved results arises from the main objective of the university. It was to satisfy the maximum number of candidates, and increase the number of mobilities with the help of the remaining grants. Regarding the duration of mobilities, the planned number of months and days was kept. The most popular target country was Hungary (66%). In the selection of Hungarian higher education institutions plays an important role the shared cultural kinship and social environment, the similarity of study programs, and that the participants do not have to overcome any language barriers. The data related to the grants for different types of mobilities indicates, that the planned funding was sufficient. The activities of the participants were included in the mobility agreements. The main significance of this Project is, that the participants were able to gain new knowledge, they had the chance to improve their already acquired skills, and they had the opportunity to learn new methods in education. Participation in this kind of project increases the quality of education at J. Selye University. After the mobility period, the participants received a Certificate about the aquired skills, confirming the study period for students, and they received the Transcript of Records as well. Each student’s academic performance was recognized by granting ECTS credits. Participants filled and submitted an online questionnaire about their mobility from the so called Mobility Tool. Language support was ensured to the students through OLS. The majority of participants were able to improve their language skills in the chosen foreign language. The achieved outputs were processed by methods and techniques of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The most commonly used methods were questionnaires, interviews, observations and evaluations. Quantitative conditions like facts, number of participants on mobilities and on seminars, the number of new parners were easily traceable and measurable during the Project. The achieved results reflect, that the objectives set in the institutional strategy of J. Selye University were successfully completed. The Project left an impact on the institution and on the participants as well. At institutional level, this means increasing the degree of internationalization, attracting new European and non-European contacts, the possibility of further cooperation, improvement of the educational process. Participants who were involved in the exchange projects, see significant benefits in obtaining and expanding their skills, improving their foreign language competences, in enhancing the ability to learn in an intercultural and international environment. They see significant benefits in the gaining of new knowledge. Among the positive impacts of the Project is the impact of changes in the local community. Based on the dissemination of information we familiarized the candidates with the Erasmus+, and reached out to future students about the possibilities of engaging in a foreign mobility. For long-term benefits we consider building a reputation of J. Selye University in abroad and introducing new teaching methods and approaches in practice, which can be implemented in the educational process of J. Selye University. Participants believe, that their participation in mobilities helps to increase their knowledge, and their gained new skills and competencies eneables them to get a good chance on the European labor market. The intention of the Project was achieved through the activities of Erasmus+. The Project achieved the objectives and expectations of all involved, and because of this reason we plan to implement projects with similar orientation.
