Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

41 Nyenrode students took part in the Erasmus+ KA1 Mobility Program in 2014 / 2015.They spent 3 and a half months in London at the University of Westminster, our Erasmus+ partner with whom Nyenrode signed an Interorganisational Agreement. There was an extensive preparation from Nyenrode and Westminster program managers and directors. Special attention was spent to the quality of the courses. As the official language at the New Nyenrode Business School is English, and the mobility students were in their third and final study year, there were no language barriers and there was no need for special language courses. In some cases students experienced problems when trying to find an apartment or get a visa. All housing problems were solved with the help of the receiving institution and fellow students. In the meantime one Nyenrode student has started a new business in London to facilitate housing for future mobility students. The visa problems were solved in time. Nyenrode will promote earlier action from future mobility students in order to get a visa on time. All students met the set study objectives. The 30 ECTS credits for the mobility program were in balance with the study load as experienced by the students. The students took part in several intercultural activities in London. Many students managed to increase their international network during the mobility period. The mobility students improved their professional study skills and became more confident when acting in an international and inter-cultural setting. These are very important values for their study, work and personal life in the future. All of the students received the EU grant. There proved to be no interest by Nyenrode students for traineeships in Erasmus+ 2014-2016. There was no staff mobility because staff members were finding themselves too busy with their regular tasks.
