The project is part of the Leonese Consortium for Practical Training of Students in European Companies, coordinated by the General Foundation of the University of León, which brings together the University of León and ten vocational higher level training centers. The main objective has not changed since the initial proposal, which is simply to motivate and encourage their students’ practical training in European companies as part of their education, or as an addendum to their training. The Consortium has served a population of more than 19,500 students, with a common structure, through efficient use of resources, all of the needs of the Consortium partners related to the practical training of students have been met. The current structure of the program presents two major difficulties: limited funding of participants, which necessitates a short duration for the internships. It has proved a significant challenge for participants to find placements in companies that are rarely willing to host a trainee for such a short period. As a result, during the first two years of the Consortium, the target has been reduced to 57 placements. The main activities that has been carried out by the Consortium are the following: • Publicizing the programme. • Seeking out and choosing host companies • Attracting suitable student candidates. • Making preparations for student mobility • Managing student mobility • Supporting, inducting, following up and assessing participants and their activities • Certifying mobility • Undertaking the technical and financial execution of relevant measures.
