The University of Essex has participated in the Erasmus programme since its inception in 1987. Essex was the first UK University to publish the module / class lists publically on the University website. Essex has a strategic goal to have at least 20% of our undergraduate cohort to have an international experience by the time they graduate from Essex. The Erasmus+ scheme is integral to achieving this goal. In 2014-15 we send a total of 55 students and 25 staff for placements across Europe, generously supported by the Erasmus+ scheme. In 2015-16 we aim to have around 110 students studying and working across Europe with the Erasmus scheme, and by 2016-17 this figure should raise to around 150+.
