Higher education student and staff mobility project

The aim of the consortia project that we applied during 2014 call period by the coordination of Çukurova University and with the partnership of Çağ University, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, Mersin University, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Adana Chamber of Industry and Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry was:
• to exchange 45 students in the scope of internship mobility
• to invite 4 staff from businesses in the scope of staff teaching mobility
• to invite 2 staff in the scope of staff training mobility.
The number of exchanges in the framework of targeted numbers are as follows:
• 38 students exchange in the scope of internship mobility
• 8 staff invitations in the scope of staff exchange mobility.
Students from all levels of education attended the mobility programme and 19 of them were new graduates. Only one student had to end his internship earlier than planned time because of workplace mismatch and personal practice.
One of the aims of the project was to train students in the light of mobileapp-weighted knowledge sharing and let those students to take part in research-development projects with the experience they gained through that project. Taking the region’s business issues into consideration, the education fields of exchanges were as English Language Teaching, French Language Teaching, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Electronics Technology, Food Engineering, Zootechnics, Economics, Business Management, Management and Information Systems, International Relations, Chemistry, Medical Biology and Medical Microbiology.
After the approval of the project; all partners came together, project calender was created in 3 different meetings, duties and responsibilities of the coordinator and the partners were discussed, duties were shared and the objectives were identified.
Responsibilities of the coordinator was to:
• Stand between beneficiaries and the center for their communication
• Gain and submit all necessary knowledge and documents to the center
• Make arrangements of all necessary colleteral and to establish payment requests
• To do all payments through bank wire and keep the documents for possible inspections.
Responsibilities of the partners were to:
• Inform the coordinator about all changes that may affect the projec
• Inform the coordinator in case of any changes about their legal, fiscal, institutional or territorial status, address and legal representatives
• Submit all the necessary and required documents to the coordinatör on time
Responsibilites of Chambers of Industry and Commerce were to:
• Send and accept internship students in the areas of Textile/Textile Products, Metal Indusry/Engineering Sciences, Food Sector/Food Engineering, Business/Management Information Systems, International Relations, Foreign Language Teaching in Education Field and Tourism and Hotel Management.
• Consortia Project name was identified as: ÇUKUROVAMed Traineeship Consortia
• Logo was designed
• Webpage was prepared
• Student application form was prepared
• The budget allocation was made according to the demands of the Institutions
• Each institution performed their own duties such as publicising the programme, accept student applications, hold language examinations, check the conveniences, identify beneficiary students and orientations. All transactions to be done during the period of enjoyment were done by each institution and sent to the coordinator after completing all the documents.
• Seminars and workshops were conducted for the students by inviting expert and experienced staff from various business sectors for the students studying at the departments of agriculture, engineering, education, international relations. This program were conducted mainly at three project partner institutions, Çukurova University, Çağ University and Osmaniye Korkut Ata University and published at universities’ web pages, local media and social media as well. The subjects of the seminars and workshops were included;
- Giving information on Breeding of Ornamentals
- Tranding topics for the next coming year in ICT, main industries in Europe
- Immagrants and Integration in Germany
- Non-Govermental organisations in Finland Immigrants and Non-Govermantel organisations
- To train English Language Teachers
- Aspects of the history and structure of the travel and tourism industry.
The aims of the project defined on the grant agreement were achieved to a great extent. It is obvious that the consortia project was carried out and suceeded as planned when the number of students and academic staff and exchange outcomes are investigated.
