WSB in Gdansk focuses on continuous development of both its students and academic staff. Travelling abroad within the Erasmus + Programme gives the opportunity not only to participate in the everyday life of a host institution (students and academic staff) but also to observe and use the best practices in the home university. Students’ and staff mobility serves not only a short-term goal such as crosscultural experience exchange but also a long-term goal (modification to the teaching programmes in order to adapt them to the international labour market). Receiving and sending students and academic staff by partner institutions may affect the information and experience exchange between universities. The acquired knowledge translates into ideas that may be used in student’s home university in order to improve the quality of education, as well as in Polish companies that will employ the students in the future. In the more distant future the mobility affects improving the quality of life of people in students’ mother country. Students’ mobility fosters to look at the mother country from a different perspective and develop a creative approach to problem solving.
In the academic year of 2014/2015 WSB in Gdansk completed 11 outgoing students for study abroad, 8 students realized internship abroad, while 10 teaching staff conducted classes at the partner universities and 8 administrative staff had a chance to exchange experiences and work knowledge in related departments in foreign universities.
Participation in the project enabled students to all levels of study to get broad and diverse qualifications through the implementation of study and / or internships in foreign institutions in the framework of exchange programmes, as from the exchange of staff point of view, mobility visits enabled them to expand the network of international contacts that allows the transfer of knowledge and conduct of joint research projects, internationalization and innovation research and teaching and to enhance professional competence and familiarity in an international environment.
