State Higher Vocational School in Racibórz participated in the Erasmus+ Programme, as specified in the financial agreement. The objective of the project was to realise 1 SMS, 6 STA and 2 STT mobility types. As a consequence of the entry into force of the annex of 12 June 2016, the number of STA has been changed to 4. Due to the increased interest of administrative staff in STT, our institution decided to move some funds from OS to STT and therefore realise 1 more STT mobility. Through participation in the project our institution intended to increase its attractiveness and international dimension at European level of higher education by offering international training programmes, which will more accurately meet the needs of students willing to educate in Europe and abroad.
The objective of the Erasmus+ Programme was to support learners and those who want to acquire or increase the level of their competences. The acquired knowledge gave new opportunities and increased one’s chances, boosting employability within the European labour market and abroad. The programme supported vocational training of our academic staff in the field of education. The aim of trainings was to implement innovation and improve the quality of teaching by the use of innovative teaching methods. Trainings, which have been carried out, as work with youth in partner institutions, created the possibility of exchange of experience in the field of methodology. Another aim of this project was to improve foreign language skills as well as to increase the level of knowledge on the culture, habits and history of foreign countries among the beneficiaries. The Programme gives the awareness of belonging to the EU countries by creating the possibility to become actively involved in social life of the foreign country.
In case of the student, results and impact of the project led to the increase of language competences, which can potentially strengthen their future employability and career perspectives. Their motivation to participation in the training at next educational levels, as well as their level of autonomy and self-esteem closely linked to the development of the entrepreneurial competences, has also been improved. Moreover, the awareness of intercultural integration and European identity has also been raised.
Academic staff acquired the possibility of occupational training and career development, as well as an increase of their competences related to the profile of their work. Moreover, they improved the level of their foreign language skills, the level of understanding strategies and systems of education and training youth in partner countries, as well as the level of mobility support and promotional activities of partner institutions. Beneficiaries have raised their level of sensitivity and understanding of social, cultural and language diversity. They have acquired knowledge in the field of promotion and mobility support. Their participation in the project has contributed to the increase in motivation and satisfaction in everyday work.
Through participation in the project, our institution increased its potential to act on an international level in the field of mobility of academic community at didactic, management, personal and economic level. State Higher Vocational School in Raciborz has also intensified its cooperation with partners of the programme.
The long term benefit resulting from this project will be a well-worked out internal system of education, as well as an education open to youth from program and partner countries for including good practices with a direct bearing on issues regarding education, trainings and work with the youth. As a result of this actions, it will be possible to stimulate the policy of internationalisation of education in our institution as well as to attract new resources in the field of mobility. Another long term benefit will be obtaining the right staff which will understand and implement modern strategies, practices and systems in higher education of different countries, with a resulting positive changes with respect to the modernisation and openness to the international society of countries participating in the project. Thanks to the competences which have been raised, the staff will be able to perform innovative actions for students by preparing more attractive curricula, with accordance to the needs and expectations of persons undertaking studies.
