Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Vilnius Cooperative College (hereinafter referred to as VCC ) successfully participates in Erasmus+ exchange program. The college successfully complies with and implements all the requirements of Erasmus Higher Education Charter. VCC intensively implements student, teacher and non-academic staff member exchange. Erasmus program is implemented following the internal rules of Vilnius Cooperative College, approved by the order of the Director. Seeking to successfully implement the requirements, VCC applies ECTS credit system both for outgoing and incoming students. For returning outgoing students the credit transfer process is being carried out based on the Learning Agreement study subjects. VCC organizes qualitative lectures in English for incoming students, provides free of charge access to college facilities (classrooms, library, reading room), aims to provide the best possible access to online databases. The college also organizes orientation weeks and guided tours to incoming Erasmus students in September and February. VCC aims to support student exchange within all the existing study programs. The most active ones are students of Catering Business Organisation and English for Business Communication study programs. During the project implementation, 3 students (2 to Scotland, 1 to the Czech Republic) of VCC went to study exchange, 7 students went to traineeship (6 to Greece and 1 to the UK). Meanwhile, 22 students, mainly from Turkey, came to study in VCC. Greater interest in student traineeship both during their studies and after them is being observed. The incoming students are successfully integrated into the academic activities: college events, lectures with local Lithuanian students. They represented their countries and institutions preparing stands with photos, other useful information during the International Fair. Students prepared national dishes, danced, sang and demonstrated other aspects of their national cultures. The common lectures had positive impact for better foreign language and presentation skill development to both VCC students and incoming Erasmus students. VCC students enjoyed the offered opportunity to follow some lectures in the English language, and incoming students in this way befriended with local students, and also acknowledged themselves with our culture, its folk aspects. VCC students are actively encouraged to participate in the Erasmus exchange program during Erasmus information seminars; the information on the exchange possibilities in VCC stands, website and Facebook, also during the ongoing events and via e-mail messages is constantly disseminated. During Erasmus seminars, the coordinator of International Relations not only informs about the selection procedures, grant amounts, foreign partner choices; students have the opportunity to listen to shared experiences of those students who have already studied or did their internship under Erasmus program during the seminars. In this way, students can directly communicate with those having mobility experience, ask them topical questions. Non-academic staff exchange is being constantly intensified to improve college administration performance. Three teachers went to Latvia and one to Romania for teaching visit; 4 teachers (3 from Portugal, 1 from Poland) came to teach to the college. 4 administrative staff members went to Portugal, two to Latvia and one to Poland. 2 administrative staff members from Poland came to VCC. Both staff and teachers gave positive feedback on the possibility to share experiences with their colleagues and to establish new foreign contacts that will be further encouraged and developed. During the meetings they not only seek to meet the main goals of their visits (e.g. give classes), but also to establish closer relationships while discussing joint projects, research and other activities, or share their own experiences in various activities. Foreign teachers are always welcome in the institution and they are given the opportunity to give lectures to VCC students.
