The policies and objectives of our institution are written in our strategic documents.
In terms of constant quality improvement one of the five objectives of our development-oriented school is to support international activities. These activities are realised in several ways among which the mobility project represents one of the most important tools for the internationalization of our institution under the criteria of the quality management system thus enabling our institution to achieve the objectives set out in its policy and strategy.
Educational programmes are continually being improved in order to meet the demands of modern economies at home and abroad. When setting the sustainable development system guidelines the international principles of the Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model are included. The effects of international activities are monitored by four performance indicators: connection with similar institutions abroad and international exchanges of students and staff, participation in international projects and taking part in international competitions.
These strategic guidelines are defined in our quality policy that we evaluate carefully in different ways: through annual evaluation reports, internal and external audits of the quality system and business excellence.
By taking part in international activities the employees help to promote the reputation of our institution. In addition, we inform internal and external public, especially prospective students, on the open day, opening day, the staff and other meetings, by publishing articles in different media, by presenting papers at national and international conferences etc.
Thus we want to emphasize the importance of gaining international professional competencies during the mobility and its positive impact on the personal growth of individuals and the local economy, the international activity being our competitive advantage.
The ECHE guidelines and policies, in particular the quality of student and staff mobility, are constantly followed. The institution policies and guidelines are laid down in the Quality rules. Our institution is committed and accountable for advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in all its forms. We seek to enable the students and the staff to achieve their full potential in an environment characterised by equality of respect and opportunity.
The recognition of ECTS achieved during the mobility is based on the pre-set criteria, information and support prior, during and after the mobility have been given to the mobility participants.
Five ERA Student Mobility for Placements and two ERA Staff Mobility – Training for HEI Staff at Enterprises have been realized so far. The budget was rationally and economically planned, its major part was given to the mobility participants and a part was spent for the mobility organisation, all in accordance with the E+ regulations.
In order to achieve more consistent quality four main components of the quality management system within the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) Cycle have been implemented in terms of effective and sustainable continuous improvement process.
All forms of exchanges bring huge returns in different fields: innovative human resources for the needs of the economy and scientific research institutions; qualified network of research teams, promotion of our institution and its educational programs, promotion of enterprises and the possibilities of their positive impact on educational programs changes; cooperation between schools and enterprises; the development of new learning technologies and didactic tools.
Our future aim is to increase the exchanges, especially the Mobility for Studies which we have not performed in this contract period so far and at the same time maintain the high level of implementation.
We also continue encouraging the staff to be more closely involved in the implementation of the project - in terms of participation in the mobility as well as in the implementation of other project activities (providing practice / study for foreign students and helping to find placements for them in Slovenian enterprises).
All employees are constantly motivated to take part in the mobility project through examples of good practice thus enhancing the internationalization of the institution and its global competitive advantages.
