Fundación Docete Omnes, in its Vocational Training Centre La Blanca Paloma, offers Higher Level Vocational Training in Sociocultural Animation and Social Integration. These studies belong to the Higher Education and include Workplace Training in enterprises in the professional sector.
By means of the mobility opportunities of this project, we intend:
- To promote students and teaching personnel’s mobility in European enterprises
- To improve the quality and appeal of VET studies in our centre
- To allow students to benefit linguistically and culturally from the learning experience in other EU countries
- To contribute to the creation of a community of young people and future qualified, open-minded and with international experience professionals
- To exchange experiences and information between teachers and centres, enriching teacher training and increasing motivation to use new resources for teachers.
The mobility Project with learning purposes enables our higher educational centre to send students abroad during their training period, as well as teachers with teaching purposes. Five second year students of VET in Socio-cultural Animation and Social Integration studies will develop their practical training in a working centre, entity or association abroad. Also, four teachers of the same centre will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and information regarding teaching methods in centres abroad.
We have given all students enrolled in second year VET studies in “La Blanca Paloma” the opportunity to participate in the mobility project. The teachers belonging to this centre have also had this opportunity. The selection was carried out without any discrimination and following selection criteria. We have searched for students interested in developing their practical training in working centres in foreign countries and teachers interested in teaching in a centre abroad.
We have provided guidance and information about several centres and institutions in different EU countries, where students can develop activities related to their studies.
Those selected had the chance to choose their institution bearing in mind their preferences and professional and learning interests, which enabled them to put their knowledge, ideas, and creativity into practice. They have acquired new knowledge and learned about work methodologies which are implemented in the hosting institution.
Teaching personnel and students who participated in this mobility project have been provided with information, guidance, and support before, during, and after the mobility, by means of meetings, email communications, telephone, follow-up questionnaires…
Thanks to their participation in this mobility program, teachers and students have acquired a series of abilities and professional, technical, linguistic, organizational, and social competences, which can be put into practice nowadays and in the future, and expand their professional and personal horizons.
The participation of the personnel in this mobility program has been beneficial. It has had a great impact and a multiple added value, affecting not only students, but also the educational centre they belong to, the educational system, and the environment of the different countries in general. Personnel mobility also benefits the training centres providing an international dimension, information about other systems, and the opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices.
The results of the after the mobility of the 5 students have been positive and with a great impact:
They actively participated in animation and social integration activities planned by the hosting institution in the working centre and in the local community. They shared different working methodologies, lifestyles, languages, and cultures with internal users in the institutions, local young people, and regional participants.
They have expanded their professional and personal horizons, making contact with European enterprises.
After this experience, the students have had the opportunity to disseminate their experience in their country of origin.
By means of the mobility project, we aim to introduce Vocational Training in the common European sphere promoting cooperation between centres and European enterprises.
