Partnerships with the foreign naval and military academies as well as with the civil universities contribute to the opening of the naval School by the development of the international relations. The initiative Erasmus is translated at the naval Academy by the reception of foreign cadets in the trainings in command or leadership.
The program of cooperation also aims at strengthening the interoperability between the various European nations in the maritime domain by:
- A better recognition of the future actors (the cadets) and their cultural framework from their initial training;
- A search for coherence between their various program;
- A validation of the program followed in the partner countries by the students within their school.
Three domains are so advanced:
- The student mobility: the objective of the naval Academy is to allow all of the cadets to study abroad (for three months minimum) within the framework of semesters of exchanges or still project of the end of studies. The naval Academy integrates students of 9 different nationalities within diverse program of officers (country of Africa, Lebanon, South Korea, Saudi Arabia). It also welcomes cadets of European naval academies and the US NAVY in exchange for semesters, or proposes in partnership with these schools, practical trainings of a few days to several weeks: boardings on school-ships, exercises of inurement or leadership for example. The reverse is true for the French cadets in the foreign academies.
