The Swedish Defence University has its focus in two areas (to make a simple description), one in the Defence area and one in Political Science towards Security Studies. Earlier we have not had any Erasmus agreements in the area of Political Science which means that no students have had the opportunity to apply for Erasmus studies. We have now, during this year, 2014/15 signed one agreement in that area so we did send one student and we even received one as well. In the Defence area we have increased the numbers of students, both for incoming students as well as outgoing students from previous years. The numbers for 2014/15 were 16 out going and 9 incoming students. For teachers exchange we have also succeeded in sending two persons. Unfortunately we did not send any staff this year. The development for our university is also in line with our new strategy for internationalization that we have worked with this year. It has put demands on the university organization which will make benefits for everybody in the long run when it comes to internationalisation. Because of the increase in intensity of the above mentioned internationalisation activities, it has become a more integral and prominent issue. This will pave way for even more activities in this area in the future. We believe that the participation in the Erasmus + Programme has widened the access to international perspectives on both individual level as well as the institution. It has also awarded greater interest in international activities which is in line with the goal of an increased number of higher education graduates as well as cross boarder cooperations even for long terms benefit.
