Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The University of Bergen (UoB) has been a part of the Erasmus programme since its early start, and the increase of outgoing students as well as internationalisation at UoB has been a goal and part of the university international strategy. The number of outgoing students has been stable for the last years, and in 2014/2015, 185 students went on an Erasmus+ exchange, a small increase compared to the previous year. The students go to the same countries as earlier, and Germany, United Kingdom and France are on top. The Netherlands has come up as a popular destination, and is now on forth place ahead of Denmark, Sweden and Spain. Not many of our students go on a traineeship abroad, usually only 3-4 students. So far no-one has gone as a recent graduate, but we have had some enquiries from students and hope that someone will go soon. 41 of the UiB staff went on an Erasmus+ mobility (both teaching and training) in 2014/2015, a real increase compared to earlier year. The biggest increase is the category of academic staff going on a staff training mobilty, for example to be trained in laboratory techniques or a language.
