CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
The HE institution Santa María de los Ángeles is a secondary school that offers ? apart from the graduation with A-Level ? educational programs of medium and higher level. The following options are possible: Travel Agency and Event Management, Business and Administration and Dietetics and Nutrition.
Our institution has been participating in Erasmus mobility programs since 2007/2008 by offering the students internships abroad and, later, by incorporating the Staff Mobility for Training.
We started with the students? mobility for training at 2007/2008 with help of the government. In 2008/2009 we applied for our own Project for having the possibility to carry out a project by ourselves. After that, in 2009/2010, we continued with Staff Mobility for Training. To summarize our mobility actions in the Erasmus program, we have organized 43 Erasmus Internships (on average 5.38 in one school year) and 16 Staff Mobility for Training (on average 2.17 in one school year) in total so far.
AIMS OF THE PROJECT
- To increase the number of participants in the Students Mobility for Practice and Staff Mobility for Training
- To ensure the most possible quality of the partner firm for the internship by carefully selecting the company or institution.
- To promote and to visualize the activities financed by the ECHE
- To organize the selection process for the grant in a transparent and fair way
- To deal with all the necessary documentation
- To support the participants before, during and after the mobility
- To work out a follow-up plan for supervising the project
- To recognize the mobility program as a part of the studies if the student has fulfilled the conditions of the project
NUMBER AND PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS
We carried out six Student Mobilities for Training; one of them was financed by a zero grant.
Profile of students: Ages between 20 and 26 years old. They show interest to participate in this program and have a medium level of social-economical skills, as well as personal and professional motivations, which underline the wish of taking part. On one hand, some of the students have already had experience in the national labour market. On the other hand, there are students as well who had never worked before and have gained their first work impressions abroad.
