The University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno joined the programme Erasmus (previously Socrates-Erasmus, LLP Erasmus, nowadays Erasmus+) in the academic year 2005/2006 when the total of 19 mobities was carried out. Over the years the number of mobilites almost quadrupled, which, taken into consideration the average number of students of 3000, is a significant achievement. In the academic year 2014/15 the total of 66 mobilities was carried out; 61 students mobilities (27 mobilities for traineeships and 31 mobilities for studies) and 5 staff mobilities for teaching. The 2014/15 strategy of UVPS Brno was to fulfill the number of mobilites defined in the Grant Agreement and to focus on their quality. The goal for the next academic year is to increase the number of staff mobilites. Programme Erasmus+ significantly contributes to the improvement of not only the language skills of its participants, but has a major impact on their personal and professional growth. In addition programme Erasmus+ enhances the competitivenes of its participants in the labor market and raises the awarness of the university internationally.
