Milan Conservatory has been administrating the Erasmus program for students and teachers for more than 14 years in an environment that has always been characterized vocationally and thanks to its cultural-geographical centrality, by an openness to international contact.
Since the very first steps into the program a goal to increase the numbers of mobility has been set. Ever rising figures of outbound students and teachers show an increase of interest, especially among students, who now consider the Erasmus experience as an essential element of their curricula.
The outgoing student’s profile corresponds to that of the average student, whose motivations are mainly oriented in search of job opportunities and/or to improve their performing skills.
Teachers also are attracted by the opportunity to meet with different methods and education systems as well as the possibility of enlarging their network of professional contacts. Undertaken activities are those supplied by the Erasmus+ Key Action 1.
In some cases these activities have led to different and more extensive forms of cooperation with some partners (artistic productions, joint exploration of new technologies etc.). The impact and results as described in section 9 of this report have been a source of inspiration for our institution in adopting corrective measures and/or improving its organization and curricula.
