Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the Academic year of 1988/1989, the University of Cordoba (UCO) begins its first Erasmus experience with five student mobilities for studies, within the framework of the Socrates Programme. In 2007/2008 our university enhances the experience with the Lifelong Learning Programme (PAP) and by 2014/2015 we began operating with the new Erasmus + Program. Throughout these years, they our university has mobilized a total of approximately 8323 outgoing students (studies and practices) as well as a total of 8215 incoming students (studies and practices) within the program. Our teachers began their Erasmus experience in the academic year 2000/2001, with the teaching modality (STA), rendering a total of 556 mobilities to date. Training mobility (STT) starts a bit later, in 2008/2009, with a total of 187 mobilities for teachers and 151 for administrative and services staff. The strong involvement, commitment and European vocation that the UCO has shown in the implementation and dissemination of European mobility programs, particularly the ERASMUS program, was rewarded in December of 2014 with the granting of official recognition to its management team. Indeed, OAPEE distinguished the UCO with an award in Erasmus management in the field of Education "for their exemplary participation in the actions of the Lifelong Learning Programme during the period between 2007 and 2013 ". The UCO, in the desire to fulfill one of the commitments made to its students, faculty and administration and services staff, contributes to the promotion of mobility with foreign institutions in order to achieve one of the main goals of its internationalization strategy. It does so with the firm belief that the Erasmus program contributes to the cohesion of Europe and the formation of a European cultural community and values. Within the total number of Erasmus+ mobilities during 2014/2015, the profile of the participants in the for studies (SMS) was 548 undergraduate students and 5 with Master's Degree, distributed among the following areas of study: 191 in the area of Social Sciences and Law, 130 in the Humanities and Arts, 117 Health Sciences, Engineering and Architecture 61, and 54 in the area of Sciences. Regarding practice mode (SMT), there were 125 undergraduate students, 20 participants were recent graduates, 6 were Master's students and 1 PhD. Also, it is worth noting that among the total number of mobilities, 59 chose European universities as their host institution, and 93 chose private companies or other institutions. On the other hand, within the Teaching (STA) category, 19 carried out mobilities for teaching in graduate studies, 21 for Master's, and 25 for PhD. Finally, regarding training (STT), 31 of the mobilities were carried out by teaching staff and 24 administrative and services staff. The mobility project was developed in three main phases: 1. Preparation: update of existing database of bilateral agreements with partner universities; official annual call for the UCO, as development of the Erasmus+ program for the different modalities, which regulates the process of selecting candidates on the basis of the basic principles of equality, merit, transparency and publicity, all based on: a. With respect to students: academic performance criteria, language proficiency, and percentage of credits passed with respect to those covered by the curriculum. b. Regarding the faculty and administrative and services staff, taking into account the linguistic competence and suitability of the proposed work to the needs of the host institution. 2. Execution: before the beginning of the mobility, participant selection is carried out, providing personalized information regarding all administrative and academic aspects of the process. All the necessary documentation is provided in order for participants to adequately fulfill their mobility. 3. Justification: upon the return of participants and as completion of mobility, the remaining documents are collected and their adequacy is checked. For the recognition of mobility, we have been taken into account the Erasmus+ criteria applying to mobility programs between Higher Education Institutions (IES) in Program countries. For student mobility, credits are recognized for formal learning and the skills acquired, as stipulated in the agreements, with the use of the ECTS system. For staff mobility of staff, different certifications are issued to account for the mobility, if necessary, whether it be for career development or curriculum purposes. As results of learning and the impact obtained by the participants, derived from their Erasmus + experience, we can include, among others, that they clearly improve skills that are specific to their field of activity, adapting and acting in a more efficient manner to new situations. In addition, they report significant increase in their social, linguistic, and intercultural skills.
