Higher education student and staff mobility project

Inside the frame of Erasmus + KA1 the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice had the general aim to substain, increase and evaluate the individual creativity through international mobilities. The actions carried out by students, by administrative staff and by teaching staff were very different but all focusing on testing opportunities to cultural improvements. Students were involved in different class methods of art trainings all experienced in larger European context and with foreign school fellows, administrative staff identified the goal to enlarge office processes and techniques learnt on field through foreign short experiences and teaching staff shared common methods in art education and tried to find ways to promote art production and to connect art and people from different countries and cultures together with the organisation of art events/conferences/workshops to disseminate best practices in contemporary fine and applied arts . The learning actions inside the European Higher Education Area brought Academy of Fine Arts of Venice 's workers to experience a real Lifelong Learning knowledge experience and helped Academy of Arts of Venice's students to gain a deeper awareness in their own knowledge paths and skill acquisitions. The context of Learning Mobility of Individuals has contributed to enlarge the didactic offer of Academy of Fine Arts of Venice and to give opportunities to reach libraries, archives, art labs and workshops not present in Venice. The interaction with different systems of higher education in Europe caused problems of contents equivalence and credits equipollence but surely has enhanced cultural updating and innovation. The network of European Fine Arts Academies and Fine Arts Faculties has increased, new agreements have been signed and preparatory visits and exchanges on educational contents and syllabuses have occured. The Call for Mobilities on behalf of students and the Call for Teachers and Staff were published on the website and largerly communicate. During some meetings with students and teachers the Erasmus coordinator professor Fiengo has illustrated past Erasmus experiences in their strengths and weaknesses and has described the different realities of foreign Fine Arts Academies focusing on applications procedure and required foreign language levels. Communication from the Erasmus office is necessary for Outgoing students and very useful for Incoming students. On behalf of the Incoming students two Welcome Days per year (one per semester) were organized with the presence of many Italian students and teachers for a full inclusion of foreigners and a real sense of condivision and celebration also of Venice as unique background around a unique study experience. In our past experiences it occured that many times Erasmus Incoming students after finishing their mobility had decided to enrol in Accademia. Before and during the mobility Incoming and Outgoing students took advantage of the meetings with the professors in charge of the degree courses. Learning Agreements and Change of learning agreements had been approved and signed by the Erasmus office. To foster adequate courses choices and to pursue consistent Learning outcomes the professors' role is essential and the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice would like to have in the future a larger number of professors engaged in the project of Learning Mobility of Individuals. Furthermore as the role of tutor/professor is necessary to ensure that the earned credits (certified by the Transcript of Records) are recognized and transferred - the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice would like to have institutionally one professor per department responsible of Erasmus credits' acknowledgement.
