Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

International influence and relations is one of the five areas of development of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Among the actions set out in the new strategy, students, teachers and staff mobility within Europe is on the key objectives. Under the responsibility of the vice-president for the International Relations and supported by the International Commission composed of each study branch of the University, the Office of International Relations of Paris 1 sets as prime objectives: - to promote Paris 1 student exchanges. The goal is to allow an increasing number of students to get a multicultural education open on different ways of working in order to broaden their knowledge and improve their employability skills on an international level. Paris 1 outgoing students are coming from each academic discipline of our University, i.e. Law, Economics - Business Management and Humanities. Paris 1 mobility periods are only granted after two years of study at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne to students who have a strong study project. - to attract and offer very good foreign students the best study conditions; this to contribute to the intellectual and cultural development of the French higher education system. Incoming students are welcome to Paris 1 from bachelor to doctorate level in each of our academic fields of studies. In order to develop these study and training exchanges, three areas of focus have been set. The first one aims at improving the current partnerships we have with specific universities. These special partnerships allow us to stimulate in a sustainable manner incoming and outgoing flows and set specific programs such as dual degrees or teaching exchanges. Paris 1 currently has 346 signed Erasmus agreements and 182 partner institutions in the European Union. The second area of development focuses on improving the quality of the incoming services as well as making our study programs more attractive to maintain a balance between incoming and outgoing students. Therefore, the feedbacks provided by the analysis of the final reports is essential to improve the administrative and educative support of our students. Furthermore, Paris 1 departments work on the expansion of the course offer in foreign languages in order to open their curriculum to a wider range of incoming students and teachers from various places. Finally, the third area of development is the promotion of study exchange programs towards our students. This year, a particular attention has been paid to advertising for our exchange programs and informing students about our application procedure from the moment they join our university. For the first time, the Office of International Relations has been part of the University open day to inform Paris 1 prospective students about the range of options they would have in terms of international study exchanges. Therefore, abroad study periods are now considered by the students from their arrival at University as integral part of their future education. Moreover, Paris 1 has organized every fall for the last three years an International Exchange fair, after which have been held by the Professional Placement Office resume and cover letter help sessions. The support of the Language Department has also been reinforced for the preparation of language tests (TOEFL, IELTS). These actions increase unquestionably the interests our students have for exchange programs and their preparation to study exchanges. Nowadays, 68% of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne outgoing students are part of the Erasmus+ program.
