Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Given the size of our organization in comparison with other universities we make only a small number of mobilities each year. But for the participants in mobility and, by extension, for our school and society in general these mobilities are equally valuable. As in previous years, the implementation of Erasmus+ programme in our organization brought a lot of positive results. Within fellowships students visited our partner Tampere University in Finland and Edge Hill University in UK this year. With an emphasis mainly on practical skills at the home institution, students appreciate the opportunity to study at major international universities, where they usually obtain theoretical knowledge with application of already gained experience in a practical sense. They are often confronted with various cultural differences, with the necessity of solving problems with proper accountability to the home and host institution and for filmmakers with such fundamental aspects as brand new outlooks on life, self-esteem, creativity and understanding of their own culture in a broader context. Equally rewarding is the experience of students from partner universities, who have opportunity to shoot one or two short films during their stay at FAMO and to meet/to be taught by professionals in the field of filmmaking . For example, according to feedback from Edge Hill University, students who return to the home institution have a bigger lead and insight than their native peers while finishing their studies at EHU. Thanks to the Erasmus+ programme we also send and invite staff from schools or enterprises to teach or train. These mobilities serve as consolidation of partnerships, sharing of useful information, as well as the development of possible cooperation in the film industry, networking and linkages that may be essential for the future and most importantly to learn from each other in a manner that would be extremely useful for both sides . Despite the non-fulfillment of some of the planned activities under call 2014, the implementation of Erasmus+ in our organisation in the academic year 2014/2015 can be described as successful. Appreciation belongs also to the Centre for International Cooperation in Education, which is in charge of administration and implementation of the Erasmus+ programme in the Czech Republic and is a great support to the beneficiaries of the grant.
