Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The qualitative and quantitative targets of the plan in accordance with the Subsidy Contract and the Erasmus Map for Tertiary Education were implemented successfully, and constituted a solid base for the prospects and the further evolution of the program on the operational and academic level. The Erasmus+ Program was treated institutionally on the decision level concerning the selection of people moved, the transparency, the equal treatment, and the development of the fund for the mobility organization in accordance both with the terms of the Program and our national legislature as well as the safeguarding of the benefit which is received both from participants and our Institution, having as a result the existence of an intense activity within the University community through discussions and interaction between all its members. The Program, actually, was entered as a main topic in the everyday agenda; in relevant collective bodies, subjects were discussed concerning quality upgrading and formulation of strategies for its future. Indicatively, we report the organization of day conferences for the promotion of the Program, the informative day conferences for the already selected people, the increase of bilateral agreements and their expansion to new fields of study, the doubling of the mobility percentage for teaching, the targeted mobility for training in accordance with the Institution’s needs, the dissemination of information through modern means (electronic governance – Skype – Blog – Site - Facebook – e-mail), the traditional approach of target groups through live contact, cultural manifestations, posters and meetings with academic coordinators and the development of program dynamics by using it as a springboard for the establishment of international relations both to the benefit of the Institution (meeting Porto, submission of six proposals to the new Program of International Mobility) and our country, as well (Memorandum of Cooperation with the Theological School in Halki). The procedure of Bologna was applied successfully, particularly to the sector of the full recognition of the Erasmus+ period with an ECTS return, issue of Certificates of Recognition (Proof of Recognition) for all mobilized students and adoption of methods for the incorporation of mobility in teaching and training in their evaluation, provision of lessons for teaching the Greek language to incoming students through the simultaneous coverage of the relevant cost by the regular budget of the Institution. The recognition of the role and the contribution of the Erasmus+ Program to our Institution have also been identified by the special involvement of the Council in the Program, its achievements inside and outside of the University, and the prospects that are created for the future despite the negative environment in our country due to known financial conditions. The Council, rewarding the successful long-term Program of educational exchanges in Tertiary Education and the very successful activity of the Department of International Relations and the European Union that deal with the Erasmus+ Program, has awarded a Moral Reward with honors to the members of the office.
