The hotel school Guyancourt holds the Erasmus Plus charter since 2007 and signed the 2014-2020 charter. It is in this context that we offer our students in BTS Hotel Catering and Accommodation Manager to perform their mobility course (mandatory 16-week internship in hotel and catering industry) in a hotel/restaurant unit located in the EEC. European mobility is even mandatory for students in BTS Accommodation Manager courses. The objectives of these mobilities focuss on three main axes : culture and deepen the knowledge of students in Hospitality fields comparing them to other methods, procedures and organizations, allowing the development of students linguistic skills in the national language and / or English, and finally on a more personal level, self opening to other cultures, gain of confidence and autonomy.
The number of students choosing european mobility is about half the total number of students in BTS (from 24 to 26 student (s) of about 18-21 years). The range of activities conducted during this mobility is based on the 3 main areas taught in our school : restaurant service, food production and hospitality (reception and floors). The assignment of students is based on their professional and academic skills (linguistic and technical level) and the internship offered by our foreign partners.
The results achieved are still very positive. The students "grow" on the academic and professional (technical and linguistic skills) and on a personal level. Many students assure us, once integrated into working life, of the importance of this experience in their careers and in the search of the first job. Some work themselves in Europe and enrich our list of partner companies.
