Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

University College Zealand's institutional strategy pays tribute to the fact that producing, acquiring, sharing and teaching new knowledge is the primary reason for engaging in international cooperation. Throughout this Erasmus+ project, inbound and outbound students and staff have taken part in mobility activities that have supported these aims. 128 students have participated in the project, 54 student mobility for traineeships and 39 student mobility for studies. 23 staff have participated, 13 staff mobility for teaching and 10 staff mobilty for training. One of our main objectives, highlighed in our European Policy Statement (EPS), has been to further strengthen our collaboration and partnerships with European partner HEI's. Our student and staff mobility activities in this project have largely supported these efforts, with 2/3 of all mobility activities taking place at institutions in countries that have been defined as close cooperation countries in our EPS. Furthermore, it is clear that participants have had high learning outcomes and generally experienced a large impact on their studies/career due to their mobility experience. We would for example like to emphasize that more than 80 % of student participants believed themselves to see the value of different cultures and be more able to cooperate with people from other backgrounds and cultures after their mobility experience, while more than 75 % of staff participants believed that they had increased their social, linguistic and/or cultural competences. In addition to gaining academic/professional knowledge and skills, international network, and various personal competences while participating in this project, students and staff clearly also gained invaluable intercultural skills and competences that are useful to their future studies and career in a globalized world.
