Higher education student and staff mobility project

PROJECT
FINISHED
Our mobility project was born - and renewed yearly - from the analysis of the training needs of the University and its staff and it is a priority objective in the context of our strategies aimed at the improvement of teaching and training activities.
The context in which the program was born is certainly different from the present. The University was founded in 1996; while finding immediately its place as part of the training and education offer of the newborn University, the program begins to grow in quantitative terms by the activation of the LLP. The innovative potential of the new project and the media coverage that accompanied the launch helped to develop greater interest and awareness of the program among students, faculty and administrative staff so that it became a part of the institutional plan of international development.
Basic part of the University strategies, the mobility project has had over the years an increasing impact on the quality of teaching and learning. Despite a mobility rate equal to approximately 2% of the total enrolled students, the level of quality of experience - guaranteed by the commitment of the University in supporting and promoting it through the identification of qualified staff appointed to the oversight and the organization of the mobility flows and the academic recognition of the activities through the ECTS System - it is certainly the additional value.
The staff involved ensures the necessary support for the preparation, implementation and recognition of the activities carried out during the period of mobility as well as disseminates information about the Programme; it is involved not only in program management but also in a more large internationalization process that identifies the raising of networks of excellence and joint projects of mobility which contribute to increase the national and international attractiveness of the Institute.
Participation in the Program Erasmus + has in fact exercised an unquestionably positive impact on our university in terms of:
1) internationalization of the university profile, through the processes of recruitment and partnerships with other institutions;
2) internationalization of the curriculum of the students;
3) extension and expansion of the training and education programs;
4) ability to develop an international network in the field of education;
5) commitment to implement an institutional strategy aimed to the increase of training offer on the basis of equal opportunity, according non-discriminatory attitude and deep appreciation of differences (ethnic, religious, etc.) with a view to the development of an international and motivating learning environment.
The University - thanks to assistance provided by the relevant offices - has also always supported and promoted the staff mobility according to an enrichment of the educational and administrative know-how essential for the implementation and development of partnerships between universities of the European Community area.
The academic year in object, however, registered an inflection of outgoing mobility. Students - mostly enrolled in the II cycle of studies - were in total 22, 17 of which in study mobility and 5 in traineeship mobility. In the past the number of outgoing students was mostly equivalent for the three Faculties (Philosophy, Medicine and Psychology); the a.y. 2014-2015 has however recorded a significant drop in mobility in the medical area.
