PROJECT
FINISHED
The Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Gaetano Donizetii” in Bergamo takes part since 2009 in Erasmus programs of the European Union, in order to benefit from the mobility programs (student and staff) and the international cooperation programs. In the last years some of our students and teaching staff had the opportunity and fortune to participate in the mobility projects offered by the program.
Through the participation in the Erasmus+ programs our Institute establishes the goal to improve the quality of its educational offer, by giving the participants the possibility to live a study and/or work experience abroad, acquire various and also more specialized knowledge and abilities, besides valorizing the excellence in the musical field. On the occasion of the present project the objectives have always been those to offer the participants a professional educational period thanks to the mobility, but also the possibility to acquire intercultural, social and linguistic competences and knowledge. The Institute itself wanted to take part in the program in order to learn good practices from the partner Institutes, new educational models to adopt and new competences in the field of the international cooperation.
Given the small size of our Institute, the participants number this year was of 3 persons. Two of them were students (of classical guitar and of harpsichord and historical keyboards) and one was a teacher (of oboe). All three of them were outbound participants.
The activities carried out by the two students were of educational type; two young musicians participated in the courses offered by the partner Institutions (Kaertner Landeskonservatorium in Klagenfurt, Austria and Hochschule fuer Musik in Wuerzburg, Germany), both in the form of individual musical instrument courses as well as other relevant courses provided for by the educational offer of the partner Institutions, approved in the Learning agreement. The students participated also in other not necessarily educational activities proposed by the partner Institutions. The outbound teacher was hosted by the Ostravska Univerzita v Ostrave, Czech Republic, where he carried out teaching activities of the musical instrument of his academic tenure. Thanks to the mobility program he could share his competences and professional experiences gained in our Institute with the students of the partner Institution.
The Erasmus+ project, recently concluded, allowed the participants to improve their competences in the music field (measured and evaluated through the ECTS credit system recognized by our Institution), as well as intercultural, linguistic and social capacities, in addition to guaranteeing – in a wider and long term perspective – better chances of the future employment. Furthermore, the Erasmus+ project helped us promote creativity and innovation inside our organization, especially in the music field, and create and adopt some best practices for the teaching methods and innovative models in the educational field. We learned new didactical approaches for music teaching and new techniques to attract a bigger number of potential music students. Finally, the mobility project allowed our Institute to acquire new competences in the international cooperation field.
