After the training period of the different courses, Tolosako Inmakulada Ikastetxea (TIIK) gets the information from different enterprises just to know the competences a real worker should have and like that we can renew our students profile and also the educational contents. The general competences are the most demanded competences in the working world even more than the specifics ones.
We have been working with these international programmes eight years, with the aim of taking students abroad for their training period. Erasmus + has given us the choice to make and to manage our own project for higher vocational training students and for teachers.
The main objective of this project for TIIK is to get well prepared students for the labour world abroad. The training period in a different country is very important because they help our students to promote the social and personal competences apart from the language improvement and the contact with other cultures.
All this experience helps the student to face better their working world since they are supposed to have more skills.
We also encourage teachers to go abroad so that they can see other good experiences and learn from them, We are very interested in learning different active methodologies in different countries in Europe like that we can introduce and experiment them in the class even create collaborative projects with different schools. Definitely, all this is fantastic because it helps in the continuous improvement of the school.
Last year one student of higher vocational training ( pre-school education ) and one teacher from the school benefited from this grant Erasmus + . The students carried out her training period in Wroclaw and the teacher went to Le Mans, to visit a similar vocational school to TIIK, both schools work in the health and social field.
The student worked as a pre-school technical, she carried out her training in a kinder garden with children and the teacher visited the school and she had an interview with the school headmaster and different responsibles of the school with the aim of finding collaborative working lines.
Making our own project has supposed to increase the porcentage of students going abroad, thus this has encouraged students as they have more choices to go abroad. It has also been very interesting for the school because it has helped us to internationalize it. This year we are carrying out different activities with our students and students from Le Mans in the class and out of the class. We expect to keep on working together the next years and to go creating new projects together where new teachers and more students can go involving.
