The Ionian University has participated at the Erasmus+ Programme 2014-15/ Key Action 1(KA1), implementing the following actions: ? Learning mobility of Individuals. This Key Action supports Partner Country organizations?: -Student mobility -Staff mobility for Teaching -Staff mobility for Training From the total number of applicants requested (115: 100 students/12 academic staff/3 administrative staff) the Greek National Agency granted only 79 mobility cases (72 students/6 staff for teaching/1 staff for training). The Ionian University?s total mobility reached 69 mobility cases, from which 8 concern staff mobility for teaching. The increased number of staff mobility for teaching resulted in more expenses, which were covered by the Erasmus+ grant without extra fund transferring. As for student mobility, from the 75 initial application forms that the Ionian University received, many were cancelled due to the Greek financial crisis. There was only one staff application for training, which was cancelled due to the applicant?s professional commitments. Despite the initial great interest for the Erasmus+ programme (especially student interest), the Greek families? financial difficulties and insecurity turned the situation around. In conclusion, the Erasmus+ participants had the chance to develop their cognitive, scientific, social, linguistic competences. Moreover, the Ionian University had the possibility to promote academic and scientific cooperation and its extroversion perspectives.
