Here we go ! Welcome to our "common European city" which will be created in the beautiful Slovakian countryside in central Slovakia "Common city" will consist of 5 countries - Slovakia , Romania , Latvia , Poland and Czech Republic. There will be 4 young people and one leader from each country. Youth Exchange will be held from 17 to 24 August 2014. The city will symbolize the common ideas of the youth exchange . There will be common English language in "European city". It is very important for functioning of the "city" that there is an active participation in civil society. The city is a symbol of mutual understanding and cooperation of several countries . This "city" will connect the ideas of these countries. The main activity of the common city is to find opportunities for active participation of young people. This project will create a space, where young people will be able to get to know each other, they will break away from the computer and through non-formal education and experiences they will develop and gain new skills, learn together and participate jointly develop their ideas, which can help them in future for active mobility, to obtain an interesting job, to get the knowledge of cultures, new places, new people and create mutual cooperation. The main objective is to develop knowledge, competencies of young people through non- formal learning methods, to lead and motivate them to use these competencies and participation in active leisure time activities, to learn about other countries and cooperation. During the Youth Exchange these young people together will create a series about active young people, which will also be output from this project. Acquiring competence is divided into 4 areas 1 ) Communication - improving communication skills , communicating in a foreign language , overcoming communication barriers , arts agreement among participants from other countries , nonverbal communication and its understanding 2 ) European citizenship rights - increase our knowledge on civil rights and obligations , recognize institutions and authorities in Europe and to be active in civil society 3 ) Co - responsibility of getting to work together, what participation is and how and where young people can participate, learn how to develop their ideas, gain team - competence to work together, organizational skills 4 ) mutual acquaintance - know other countries , cultures, customs and solidarity development, the development of intercultural learning
