PROJECT
FINISHED
The idea of the project "Heps go Hungary"; was born because our school the BBS III in Stade wished to have a mobility with a foreign country. The BBS III is a vocational school in the field of home economis, health and care as well as agriculture.
In the field of agriculture the school has a cooperation with France for some years already. French pupils attend some practical training in agricultural establishments every year.
The BBS III gains first experiences as a sending organisation and Erasmus+ with the project "Heps go Hungary".
The contact to our Hungarian partner was initiated in 2013 as another school offered us the connection to that organistion.
Our partner WEXEdU (Work Experience and Education in der EU) is a foundation with longterm experience in projects such as the Leonardo da Vinci lifelong learning programmes. They are a sending as well as a hosting organisation.
The target group of our cooperation were pupils doing an apprenticeship in the field of social care. They were trained to support and to develop skills of people with special needs.
In Hungary (Budapest) the pupils did an internship in establishments that are specialised in the field of social care. The internship lasted for about three weeks. In the first flow four appropiate candidates and in the second flow seven candidates participated in the mobility. Before that they were chosen by the sending organisation as well as they were prepared to go abroad.
The hosting oranisation WEXEdU attended to the interns during their stay in Hungary.
The participants were offered accommodation and catering. They were introduced and supervised at the places of their intership and during their stay in general.
The WEXEdU offered other activities before and during the internship as well. The participants received a cultural and linguistic introduction for the country including a guided tour in the city of Budapest. They took also part in an excursion to the mountains around Szendentre as a free time activity offered by the hosting organisation.
The contact person of the sending organisation (Hannah Hirt) visited Szentendre during each flow to get an insight into the vocational training in Hungary as well as to get an impression of the progress of the pupils' internships. Another goal of the visits was to extend our cooperation and partnership with the WEXEdU and to share experiences and knowledge concerning European mobility and the vocational system of our countries. We developed plans on how to extend our cooperation concerning other target groups in the future as well.
The German interns as well as the Hungarian experts had benefit of the experience and the exchange of knowledge.
We could read that in the evaluations of the companies, the participant reports after their their stay as well as in the reports and evaluation of the pupils and what they told us in general. Furtthermore the hosting organisation agreed to that as well.
The target groups realized intucultural and professional differences by comparing the German to the Hungarian system.
In that way they could broaden their horizons.
The participants got insight into another country, the culture and the Hungarian language with the effect of growing in their development.
Last but not least the pupil opened up for new things and gained more independence which is a positive step in their developments.
Implementing the project sucessfully at our school, the reputation and attractiveness of the apprenticeship in the field of social care as well as of the whole school increased in public.
