Healthy Ways
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Dec 16, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Healthy Ways" is a unique youth exchange that will reflect on the topics connected to health. The idea of this youth exchange was proposed by a young medicine student who took part on our previous project and got interested in non-formal education. There will be 40 young people from Estonia, Romania, Spain, Slovenia and Czech Republic who will stay and work together for 8 days in a diverse and intercultural community. The exchange will take place in Aegviidu, Estonia, from August 17th-24th 2014. There will be thematic days connected to the topic of health - for example Human body, Mind/thinking/stress, Healthy lifestyle, Drug abuse or Modern age and civilization diseases. There will be different types of workshops in order to ensure the learning process is various. There will be games, team works, simulation games, presentations. Through these thematic days we want to raise awareness among young people about the health problems. Health is mostly considered for granted by young people and they are not aware well enough about prevention rather than dealing with consequences. Participants will gain some practical skills like at the workshop about CPR where they will learn how to save a life. They would also get to know new facts about healthy lifestyle and they will be able to use it in their daily life (for example setting up your own diet plan). Moreover, they will get to know other countries through various activities aimed at the intercultural learning. There will be also one topic-connected workshop prepared by participants themselves in advance. Each national team will present their health system. One workshop about drug abuse will be prepared by the Estonian group.
