HEALTHY LIFE=HAPPY LIFE

Young people's health is the future of our society. The World Health Organization says that the health and long duration is caused by way of life by 50 percent, and nearly two-thirds of premature deaths and one-third of the total disease burden in adults are associated with conditions or behaviours that began in their youth, including: tobacco use, a lack of physical activity, unprotected sex or exposure to violence. Physical activity, a healthy nutrition and the absence of addictions are essential factors for healthy lifestyle, the most important causes which effect the health of youth. Therefore it is very important to develop young people's attitudes towards healthy lifestyle, which helps to maintain and improve health, physical power, improve and preserve the quality of life. The aim of the project „Healthy life = Happy Life“ to encourage 40 young people from 7 countries to change the way of life to a healthier and more active by using non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue during the international meeting (project) which will be held on September 5th – 14th 2014 in Lithuania. Partner countries - Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Malta, Italy, Turkey. The project will involve 4 participants and one leader from each country. The main activity of the project is a youth exchange. All together participants will expose the approach of each partner countries' to human health, physical activity, will understand the value of health and strengthening of health, will gain knowledge about healthy lifestyle and will develop the skills of healthy lifestyle. The project will seek to 1) inform about the benefits and basic principles, mistakes of healthy nutrition, the influence of society, impact and benefits of physical movement, stress management, addictions and the damage on health; 2) share best practices and to teach to adapt it to youngsters surroundings; 3) interest the participants in a variety of activities, show the diversity of sports and help to find a favourite sport activity, a form of movement, to interest in relaxation without techniques without alcohol, tobacco and other addictions; 4)develop their competencies - linguistic skills, communication in intercultural surroundings, teamwork, problem solving skills, promote creativity; 5) enhance intercultural collaboration, promote tolerance of different opinions, attitudes, perceptions, nationalities; 6)establish a strong and long-term international relationships as a basis for further cooperation. All young people will be actively involved in education during these activities: they will discuss, analyse, create, try practically, present, provide suggestions, listen to others, involve the society, and make the (self-) assessment. Working in groups will teach them to deal with interpersonal relationships, to understand decision-making process, to share the work and responsibilities. The project will use a variety of methods - representation, presentation of good practices, discussions, simulations, meetings with guests and workshops, animation games, „mind storm" and a variety of other non-formal learning methods. Youngsters will receive an extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of a healthy lifestyle, a balanced nutrition, mistakes, advertising impact on our way of life and physical activity and the benefits, how to deal with the stress in healthy ways. During the project, participants will engage in health and sports activities that promote physical activity, a balanced nutrition health maintenance and relaxation. The participants of the project will also improve their social skills and become familiar with other countries' history, culture, traditions, language and the dominant approach to a healthy lifestyle, unfold each partner country's identity and characteristic national characteristics. It will provide a platform for intercultural communication and understanding, breaking stereotypes and promoting tolerance. This will reduce the social barrier that disrupts the productive collaboration. They will have a common goal - to inform the society of a healthy lifestyle principles and to seek to improve the quality of life for themselves and people they are surrounded of. The gained contacts will give an opportunity for participating organizations to cooperate and create future plans to involve more young people to future projects. Communication and co-operation will continue after the main project activities, so a strong and lasting relationship will be ensured; the participants will keep interacting to each other in groups created by virtual instruments, the youth from other countries will be able to see this information and communicate by suggesting their ideas. The interest in these topics and the active communication with different people will encourage dialogue among the youth. The contacts with other youth organizations will form a strong ground for opportunities to cooperate, learn and share experiences.
