The EVS mobility entitled Health in your Backyard emphasizes the fact that a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle is strongly connected with one's personal happiness. By "health" we mean the physical, mental and emotional wellness. We would like to offer the European youth an EVS learning experience to help them with their personal and professional development, to assist them to acquire new knowledge and competences and provide them with practical experience for the employment market that they will help build in the near future. The success of ecological farming in Europe is the undeniable proof that non-formal education in this subject will make the difference for job opportunities in the near future. We aim to provide our volunteers with the still rare-to-find guidance of our mentors around the world, which we consider sui generis. At Nanda Gram we place our volunteers on the path of discovering their own aptitudes or strengths, to practice innovative techniques and have room to solidify their personal passion and their contribution for society. There are two main pillars of our organization, that help youth to achieve the above mentioned: A) youth and adult non-formal education in the field of healthy life-style, comprising personal development and coaching, anti-stress courses, vegetarian cooking classes, and sustainable agriculture; B) organizing trips and visiting other farms with various weather and soil conditions to gain experience in overcoming challenging situations, such as water scarcity, barren land etc. We want to nourish our organization continuously with fresh ideas and young energy, simultaneously providing our volunteers with the best we have. We will study the different characteristics our areasWith this project we would like to promote our strong belief that with the proper knowledge, anyone can improve their quality of life, with whatever resources they have at hand. What motivates us:The alarming employment situations in some European countries has awaken in us the desire to offer education for youth in the particular area of eco farming for 3 reason: the practical application in solving the immediate need of nourishment, and the positive impact of restoring harmony between human needs from nature, and the responsible use of natural resources, and finally reaching out to the raising number of youth that experience stress, depression and similar symptoms due to the scarcity of jobs, the anxiety of providing for their basic needs, giving them the opportunity to contribute for future generations in their communities. Our objectives are: 1. To promote and provide healthy lifestyle education;2. To enhance the professional skills and employability of our volunteers through non-formal education;3. To provide our volunteers and with the richness of cultural diversity as bridges in social dynamics; 4. To develop social skills and promote active participation in society;5. To promote the good practices of EVS and Youthpass on a regional and national level;6. To fan the spark of creativity in entrepreneurship. We strongly believe that our work focuses on some of the main objectives of Erasmus+ and the strategy of Europe 2020’s goals in relation to employment and education. As the newly acquired skills of our EVS volunteers will be validated with Youthpass and disseminated within their sending organization and local community, we want to join the effort to build up a better Europe. With the newly acquired knowledge and experience, the volunteers will also have better chances in their careers. Spain’s biodiversity and apogee of organic farming is the nation’s greatest wealth, waiting to be explored.
