PROJECT
FINISHED
After the SWOT and Problem analysis during the seminar program at the beginning of the 2014-2015 educational year, the need of enhancing teachers' competencies in ICT related areas arose. After having considered the institutional and students' needs, we decided to prepare an inservice training project to promote the competencies of the teachers, students and institution.
The group consists of 10 teachers all of whom are English teachers. The reason why we have to choose all training programme participants from English department is that there is unfortunately no other teacher who could meet the course prerequisite of language proficiency of B1. The participants of the training programme will their experiences and competencies with the other teachers during the seminar period at the beginning of the educational year of 20015-2016.
We have divided our teachers into two groups -in groups of five- according to their needs. One group of the teachers have a relatively low level of digital competency. Blended Learning programme which incooperates digital and linguistic skills has been chosen for them. The other group consists of 5 English teachers whose ICT competencies a little bit higher than the previous group, and "Tech in Classroom" program has been chosen for that group.
The training programmes have been devised and will be implemented by internationally accredited two different course providers in Dublin, Ireland expert in the field of teacher training. The logistic needs of the group and all the other project activities will be organized by the experienced project team of the school. The dissemination activities at the end of the training programme will be organized by our project team in coordination with the Provincial Directorate of Education. In terms of international dissemination, E-Twinning and sharing of experience with our EU school project partners will further add to the EU dimension of our school.
This project will enable the digital immigrants- we teachers- to meet the needs of the digital natives-our students through integrating ICT in our teaching activities. The technological infrastructure of F@TİH Project will provide us invaluable technological assistance. The outcomes of the project will be an increase in teachers' ICT competence and consequently an increase in students' motivation and interest in language classes.
The skills, new teaching techniques and methods the participants will gain abroad, will be integrated in language classes thus also enhancing the innovation quality and capacity of the school. Our project team cooperating with colleagues from other countries during their mobility will invest in new projects in the long term and take a crucial step in the internationalism process of the school which is one of the priorities of Erasmus+.
