" Hand to Hand " is the title of the project in which we offer the young volunteer Babette Matthiessen from Germany the possibility to take part in a long-term European Voluntary Service in Moldova. The service will last for one year. The Kreisjugendwerk der AWO will be the sending organization and ADVIT Moldova will act as Receiving organization.Through volunteering with ADVIT Moldova, participants gain valuable work experience, learn a new language and develop important vocational, interpersonal and cultural skills, while in return offering their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for the benefit of the projects that host them. Babette Matthiessen already gained some international experiences before but she didn't have the possibility to get to know any eastern european country as well as its culture before. She's really interested in intercultural work and has already some experiences in this field. She's offering advice to guest students and hosting families in her region and it will really be an experience to broaden her horizon to life in Moldova for one year. After her EVS she has the possibility to include her experiences in her international activities in Germany as well.ADVITs main goals are:• To inform youth about opportunities in education, culture and social activities• To promote dialogue between young people from all over the world• To create favourable conditions for intercultural youth cooperation• To promote the spirit of volunteering• To provide information about youth education and exchange opportunities• To create and coordinate youth exchange programmes• To promote a healthy lifestyle among young people• To develop youth mobility and encourage participation• To raise awareness about Moldovan culture and heritageThe volunteer Babette will help with realization of the objectives of the hosting organization and will gain experience in connection with organizing and developing activities for the beneficiaries of the hosting projects that will enrich their language skills, communication abilities, understanding and will foster intercultural learning for all the parts.
