Due to the more intensive exchange of specialised personnel among western and eastern European countries the need for specific competences has increased. The HALE-project concentrates on building these specific competences for people in health service, medical care and in some domains like occupational health and safety management. The goal of the project is to build the language, communication and intercultural competences for such people who work in public and occupational health and safety. The indirect target groups are the managers of enterprises, adult educators, trainees and end users of health care services. The result will be an e-learning course divided into modules that can be learned separately: introduction module, module for the health service and medical care, module for occupational health and safety, socio-cultural module. The focus will be on providing learners with a wider vocabulary and to manage it al least in the written form. This will improve the direct communication skills and the possibility to the parallel use of national and international standards. The project is aimed at the public health, occupational health and safety management sector. Primary target groups are (non Czech native speaking) medical staff, healthcare workers, occupational health and safety officers and technicians and adult educators in other contries teaching Czech. Furthermore some indirect target groups are teachers and students out of the sector, managers in enterprises, disabled people, seniors and women in specific situations. Disseminating the projects’ results will be done by meetings and workshops, website with discussion forum, leaflets, and info flyers and more specifically by direct involvement of the target groups in all stages of the development.
