The project aim is to develop a research program for evaluation of Mures and Cris rivers valleys habitats and to assess ecosystem goods and services from the same area.General objective: To implement a research program necessary to assess ecosystem goods and services for the Mures and Cris river valley.Specific objectives: - to determine the types of habitats and ecosystem goods and services in 4 sites selected in the river valleys; - to improve the human resources quality of the partner organizations and promote further collaborations;- to improve the quality of inhabitant's life offering valuable information for sustainable development.The main activities of the project are: implementation of training sessions for staff and students and implementation of the research program (Landscape pattern evaluation, Ecosystem goods and services evaluation).Direct target groups are represented by the staff and the students involved in the project activities. Also, local authorities informed regarding land use and ecosystem services within their administrative territory. Indirect target groups are represented by the inhabitants of the localities within the 4 experimental sites and the localities situated along the two studied rivers: Mures and Cris; the inhabitants of the 3 counties which will be informed about the project results and importance.Among the project results: 3 conferences, 4 scientific papers, 20 students trained, 8 staff members trained, 8 press articles, 4 habitat maps, 2 hydromorphological maps, 1 database of ecosystem goods and services.
