Taking part in a language immersion course for English teachers in Scotland can be a valuable experience for Mrs. Haas, who is an English teacher and head of the English department at a comprehensive school in Hesse, central Germany. The aim is to learn more about new aspects of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in terms of methodology and didactics. The teacher would also like to improve her own English skills especially in the realm of British English. In addition to that Mrs. Haas is going to teach the other members of the English Departement of her school about the new gained information since the school tries to foster intercultural learning both on the side of teachers and students. This can be seen in the schools interest in exchange programs and its participation in the European Comenius- Project. Another advantage is that we are interested in cooperating with other European schools, especially when it comes to email or other media- based projects, which can be implemented in our schools`current media courses.
