At the same time the volunteers will gain new skills related to work of nursery school teachers and running activitites in a small community. The project involves 2 volunteers from Greece and Spain who will be supporting the teachers of the nursery school with educational and care activities. The volunteers are at the age of 18 - 30 and have interest in work with young children (3-6 years old). They are willing to learn about children's needs and methods of work corresponding to them as well as develop social and intercultural competences, independence and initiative. The project consists of 2 long-term voluntary service activities , depending on the length, working place of the volunteer and kind of work. The Spanish volunteer will be working only with children without disabilities for 6 months, the Greek one for 7 months will perform tasks related to care and education of disabled children included in her schedule. The volunteers will learn through action, however their activities will be preceded by appropriate training. Everyday work will be supervised by the work coordinator and teachers. The volunteers will have a set of duties assigned but there will be space for their initiatives. The tasks will be introduced gradually depending on the volunteers' learning pace. Promotion of European Voluntary Service n the local community through promotional activities and regular meetings with youth will be an additional aspect of the project. The results of the project will be increased knowledge on different countries among children, realising new ideas and activities but also working out an efficient system of cooperation with the volunteers. For the volunteer the project will be a chance to gain knowledge on education of young children, learn the Polish language and get to know the culture, develop a number of social skills such as ability to work in a team, communication skills, independence etc. and become more sensitive towards the need of the local community. The volunter will live in a multicultural group whcih will give more opportunities for intercultural learning. The project will have a big impact on the local community: people related to the nursery school as well as local institutions and may result in development of international voluntary service in Pułtusk and Pultusk county.
