GREEN TOUR - stáže studentů a učitelů zahradnictví v evropských školách a firmách

The project „GREEN TOUR – placements of students and teachers of horticulture in European schools and firms" reflects the needs of quality and internationalization of vocational education, connection between theory and practical training, enhancing the relation between school and enterprises and support of the staff professional development.The project has a few main objectives to be fulfilled through international mobility in partner institutions - horticultural schools and landscape, viniculture and floristry firms. It aims to improve the quality of education in horticulture especially in the field of practical education and training, enhance the European dimension of practical preparation, enable beneficiaries an access to the methods and techniques used in institutions abroad, assure the placement quality and transparency in qualifications implementing European instruments ECVET and Europass, support lifelong learning, increase attractiveness of horticultural education and contribute to competitiveness and employment within the labour market.Besides the sending organization, five partners are involved in the project: four members of the European network FLORNET - AOC de Groene Welle Zwolle, the Netherlands, Bildungszentrum Gartenbau Langenlois, Austria, Magyar Gyula Kertészeti Szakközépiskola es Szakiskola, Budapest, Hungary, Stredná odborná škola Pruské, Slovakia - and Berufliche Schulen Kitzingen-Ochsenfurt, Germany. All receiving organizations have had a long experience with international projects. The project team will carry out the project following the plan of activities which encompass: selection procedure, setting up agreements, task-related, linguistic, intercultural and psychological preparation, practical arrangements, preparing the placements themselves, their realization, the outcome assessment and recognition, use of European instruments, dissemination of results, methods of monitoring and communication with partners.Due to climatic conditions and particular features of the branch of horticulture, two-week placements will take place in three cycles - spring 2017, summer and autumn 2017 and spring 2018. Thirty secondary school pupils and five specialist teachers will participate in the traineeships.The Austrian school will prepare a work placement in the school training department. The training will be gradually organised for three groups of four students. The Dutch partner will arrange floristry and landscape based placements for four participants. Two participants in Hungary and four students in Slovakia will meet the conditions of florist shops. In addition, our Slovakian partner will arrange for a training in the field of practical horticulture for four apprentices. German school will prepare a placement in the filed of horticulture and viticulture for four students. Accompanying persons will be present at placements for underage participants for a part of the stay.The receiving organizations, in cooperation with professional firms, will set conditions which will meet the needs of participants and the needs of contemporary practical education in horticulture.Another objective is to improve the key and professional competencies of participants, determine and enhance practical skills in authentic conditions of foreign firms, to compare them with Czech enterprises. The implementation of ECVET instrument is an additional value and strengthens the quality of placements. Trainees will be assessed in compliance with the tasks and criteria defined in learning outcome units which will be used even after the project completion. Specialist teachers of floriculture, floristry, landscaping, fruit-growing and viticulture and viniculture will take advantage of a five-day job-shadowing Austrian and German colleagues at schools and firms. All participants will profit from their progress in ICT skills, as well as linguistic, personal, social and cultural competence. The individual features of placements encourage an independent project solving and participants’ adaptability. The trainees will receive a certificate and Europass Mobility.The use of gained experience in practice will increase students’ motivation for their further study, will make their competitiveness and chances within the field of horticultural in the Czech Republic and in Europe better.Teachers will improve their specialist skills, will get new didactic and methodical knowledge, their motivation for lifelong learning will be stimulated. Presentations, photo-documentation, thematic dictionaries and other project results will become a source of teaching materials, of project publicity and promotion of education in horticulture.Experience in the project implementation and in the use of ECVET will be used to improve professional preparation, while organizing reciprocal placements for students and teachers from partner schools and within other forms of international cooperation.
